» Posted in Health and Fitness

Maybe you have been told by a well meaning friend to watch what you eat and how much you drink because ‘you need to look after your liver’. So how important is the liver anyway? Are you friends making a big deal out of nothing, or do they really have a chase?

Well let’s look at some important facts:

1. You Only Have One Liver?

The first thing you need to consider is that you only have one of them. Your liver displays the symptoms of liver problems to warn you that things need to change to restore you liver back to health – or you are going to have serious problems.

2. Liver Transplants Are Not Always Successful

However, not all liver transplants are accepted by the receiving body and finding a matching liver donor can be a difficult process. This means your best option is to look after the one that you have.

3. You Cannot Live Without You Liver

The fact of the matter is that you need your liver to survive! Your liver is the processing house that changes all the foods that we eat into properties that your body can use and process.
